Unboxing Your Trezor

When you receive your Trezor hardware wallet, carefully unbox the contents. You should find the Trezor device itself, a USB cable, recovery seed cards, and a lanyard. Ensure all items are present and undamaged before proceeding.

Verify the security seal on the package to confirm that your device has not been tampered with during shipping.

Connecting to Trezor Suite

To begin setup, connect your Trezor to your computer using the provided USB cable. Visit trezor.io/start in your web browser and download Trezor Suite, the official desktop application for managing your cryptocurrency assets.

Trezor Suite is available for Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems. Follow the installation instructions for your specific platform.

Initializing Your Device

Once Trezor Suite is installed, open the application and follow the on-screen instructions to initialize your device. You will be prompted to:

• Install the latest firmware update
• Create a new wallet or recover an existing one
• Set up a PIN to protect your device from unauthorized access

Choose a strong PIN that you can remember but would be difficult for others to guess.

Backup Your Recovery Seed

The most critical step in setting up your Trezor is writing down your recovery seed. This 12 to 24-word phrase is your ultimate backup. If your device is lost, stolen, or damaged, this seed phrase is the only way to recover your funds.

Write the words in exact order on the provided recovery seed cards. Store them in a secure location, never digitally, and never share them with anyone.
